Haiku Written on the Run (Poem)

an inchworm bends
up the great gray trunk, hitches
on the runner's shirt

As I finished a run last week, I looked down at my watch and noticed a little green worm inching its way up my favorite shirt. Little hitchhiker, I thought, and flipped it away. Insensitive, I know--don't tell PETA; but at least I got a poem out of it before it hit the ground.
